Jaryuu Tensei Chapter 4

Since I was able to finish this an hour before I had to sleep, I’m gonna try to post one or two chapters a day at the same time, so look out for that.

Also since this also had minimal editing please point out any mistakes or parts that you don’t quite understand at the comments section.

Chapter 4: if you have a stupid boss, you’re gonna suffer, right?

The treasure room was in the castle’s basement.

Even though it’s quite a spacious place, there’s hardly any place to stand.

From shiny gold and silver to expensive looking swords and dangerous looking drugs, this place has everything, huh?

“That guy, even though he’s a small fry he’s gathered quite a lot, huh?”

“”It was the demon lord’s hobby to collect items.”

“I see, well for starters, I’m gonna lie down, you, rub my shoulders.”

“y-yes.”

I lied down in some random place and had my shoulders rubbed by underling A.

Recently my shoulders have been kinda stiff.

Is it because dragons have heavy heads?

Leaving that aside let’s talk about random things..

“Hey did you know I worked as a salaryman in my previous life?”

“Sala- sala…?”

“And then, you know, everyday I had to use formal language I didn’t want to use, lowering my head everywhere. And during the summer when it was shit-hot, walking everywhere, my shirt would get wet with sweat. The concrete jungle is the worse.”

“Conkrit jangol…?”

“Well anyways, you know, I really hated using formal speech. Humans are equal, right? Why would you even get pissed off at the difference between ‘I’m sorry’ and ‘I’m very sorry’? Though, I wouldn’t wanna be talked to casually by a convenience store clerk.”

“Conbinyens stor…?”

“Well, that’s enough, even if I made you hear my past you’ll just be troubled.”

“…yes…”

“Eh, you’ll be troubled?”

“I-I-I wouldn’t be! Tell me a much as you want!”

“Nah, it’s troublesome, so it’s fine. Or rather le me hear your complaints. Wasn’t that demon lord seriously the worse?”

Underling A averted his eyes and kept his mouth shut.

Truthfully, his eyes are telling me that he really wants to let out all his complaints.

“It’s fine, It’s fine, try saying it.”

“Umm… it was seriously really shitty. He was a ball of self-righteousness. The racial discrimination was really harsh, and his weak subordinates were expected to clean up after all his shit.”

“Uwaa, I feel you man. In the past I was also not blessed with a good superior. If I did something wrong he would yell at me, he wouldn’t even hesitate taking others achievements as his own, his breath even stank. He’s someone I would put on the same level as shit.”

“Is that so…”

“It was hard, right?”

“Yeah, I’m glad that he died.”

“It’s because he killed my precious slimes, that I couldn’t forgive him. If I didn’t do at least this much… I might have just cried…”

Or rather didn’t I cry a bit? Shit.

Tears seriously don’t suit an evil dragon’s eyes.

Underling A, somehow after looking at me with passionate eyes, made a salute.

“Evil dragon-san, I seriously respect you! Thank you for defeating the demon lord.”

Woah, I was shocked, I thought this guy was a coward.

Your voice is too loud, are you a sports-type?

How grateful are you.

And then, I can somehow sympathize with your hate for the demon lord a bit more now.

“Well don’t mind it. Or rather, good job working under that kind of guy for so long.”

“Yes… actually my mother at my hometown is sick so… he was that kind of demon lord, but the wage was good so…”

Uwa, to think they had a wage system.

The world revolves on money, huh?

What is it? The fact that this isn’t that different from japan, is kinda making tears come out, though?

But the fact that he’s working hard for his mother is gonna make me cry.

The fact that the bonds between a mother and child crosses the barrier of species makes me kinda relieved.

“You, what’s your name?”

“It’s pellet.” [TL note: I don’t know any other alternative name other than this, but all the other ideas I had are kinda unrealistic or not catchy at all.]

“Then, pellet. Of the treasures here, take some of the ones you think are especially valuable.”

“Yes!”

There were three things that pellet took in front of me.

A sword, a black bag, and a candy like object.

“The sword is something called a sacred sword, it was something we took when we attacked a human castle. The black bag looks like this, but it can fit objects you couldn’t even imagine the size of. It’s said to be connected to another space or something like that.”

“Fuun, they’re kinda normal, huh. What about the one that looks like a ball of candy?”

“This is something we took from the pig-faced tribe’s(Orcs) village when we attacked them. When we killed him, he seemed to be attached to it. But before we could hear what it could do, the stupid son of the demon lord killed all the orcs.

“I understood, then, I’ll take this three.”

With a heave-ho I stood up.

Pellet looked up at me with a blank face.

“Eh, umm, what about the other treasure? If you use the black bag, you can put them all inside.”

“Nah, I don’t need them. I’ll give them all to you.”

“…Yes?”

“That’s why, what I’m saying is I’m giving everything else to you.”

If this was me in my previous life, I would have pounced at the money, but for me who’s a dragon right now, no matter how much money I see, I don’t really have an interest in them.

When I took a bottle that fell near me, i handed Pellet the sword, and said.

“Use that sword and cut off my tail.”

“I-I can’t do that.”

“It’s fine so do it. It’s okay, my body is harder than it looks, do it seriously.”

When I pressured Pellet, he slashed down while trembling.

…Guu…

I see, this really might be an amazing sword.

It’s just a bit, but it left a wound on me.

I know because of the small tear at the corner of my eye.

At that timing I thought of the mercilessly killed slime’s figures, and when I did that, tears dropped into the small bottle.

Quite a bit has gathered so I put on the lid and gave it to Pellet.

“That liquid, have your mother drink it, I’m sure something good will happen.”

“Evil dragon-san…”

“Then, I’m going now.”

When I went out of the treasure room, pellet raised his voice.

“Please wait! Evil dragon-san, your name, please tell me your name!” [TLnote: anyone watched that movie yet?]

If you say that, I’ll be troubled you know.

Since I don’t have a name.

Since I was so shocked getting hit by a car, I can’t even remember my name from the previous world. And in this world I’m either called evil dragon or boss.

Can’t I just make it now?

How about [KING OF DRAGON]?

It’s too chuuni.

Although I can’t deny my low mental age.

Then why don’t I just shorten it.

Since they also do that in movies with long titles after all.

If I shorten Jaryuu… would it be ryuu? Jaryu?

Ah~ah~ this has really become something troublesome.

“I am Ja[Hiragana]… Ja[kanji]”

“Then it’s Ja-san[katakana] right!”

“No it’s in kanji… un, that’s fine already.”

“Ja-san! Please come to my hometown one day! I’ll be waiting for you!”

And then I was seen off with big smile as I left the demon lord’s castle behind.

Since the demon lord is dead this should make the slimes who died rest in peace a bit.

As I flew in the sky for a while, a thought appeared.

Isn’t Ja a rice cooker brand!?

And then I had another thought.

Oi Pellet, Where the hell is your hometown?
